Data collected automatically when you use our website
In addition to the data you enter voluntarily, we also collect data automatically each time you visit our website. This data enables us to provide you with a smooth use of our website and to make certain third-party information and links directly available to you.
In addition, we also automatically collect data for advertising purposes in the event of your corresponding consent. In this case, usage data is tracked for so-called usage-based online advertising, i.e. usage data is collected and processed pseudonymously into usage profiles ("advertising tracking"). This happens because advertisers need reliable information for online advertising to be as efficient as possible, especially about how many readers see their ads and which users are estimated to be particularly interested in which products, topics or offers. In this way, advertisements that you are likely to pay more attention to can be played on your end device.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically. You can generally prevent cookies from being stored on your hard drive by selecting "do not accept cookies" in your browser settings. You can also set your browser so that it asks you whether you agree before setting cookies. Finally, you can delete cookies at any time once they have been set. Please refer to the instructions of your browser operator to find out how all this works in detail. Please note, however, that these settings only apply to the respective end device and the browser on or in which they were made.
Under the "Cookies & Tracking" link embedded at the end of each of our web pages, we offer you the opportunity to transparently understand which cookies we use on our website for advertising purposes, to understand how the individual cookies work and to understand how an opt-out of the respective cookie can be stored.
When you access our website, the browser used on your terminal device automatically sends information to the server of our website. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file. The following information is automatically recorded (IP address, date and time of access, if applicable the name and URL of the file accessed, if applicable the website from which access is made (referrer URL), the browser used and if applicable the operating system of your computer as well as the name of your access provider). The IP address, i.e. the only date that could establish a link to your person, is deleted immediately or anonymised in such a way that it is no longer possible to establish a link to a person.
The aforementioned data is processed by us for administrative purposes and to ensure a smooth connection and comfortable use of our website as well as to ensure that our system works securely and stably. The data processing is based on our existing legitimate interest in the data processing for the aforementioned purposes and thus on Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f) GDPR.
We use various services of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter referred to as "Google") on our website, which we list and explain in more detail below.
In order to oblige Google to process the transmitted data only in accordance with our instructions and to comply with the applicable data protection regulations, we have concluded an order processing agreement with Google.
Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to us on our behalf. In doing so, pseudonymous usage profiles can be created from the processed data. The creation of profile data only takes place with your consent, i.e. on the basis of the legal basis Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a) GDPR. The IP address transmitted when using Google Analytics is not merged with other data from Google.
We only use Google Analytics with the activated IP anonymisation described above. This means that your IP address is only processed by Google in a shortened form. This means that it cannot be linked to a specific person.
We also use Google Analytics to analyse the use of our website and to continuously improve individual functions and offers as well as the user experience. The anonymous statistical evaluation of user behaviour enables us to improve our offer and make it more interesting for you as a user.
We only use Google Analytics if you have consented to its use, i.e. on the basis of Art. 6 (1) p. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time.
Google Tag Manager
We also use Google's Tag Manager if you have consented to the use of this service. The Google Tag Manager enables us as marketers to manage website tags via an interface. The Google Tag Manager, which implements the so-called tags, is a cookie-free domain and does not itself collect any personal data. It triggers other tags, which in turn may collect data. The Google Tag Manager does not access this data. If a deactivation has been made at domain or cookie level, this remains in place for all tracking tags implemented with the Google Tag Manager. Any processing of data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a) GDPR.
We also use the "Google Ads" service on our website. Google Ads enables us to draw attention to our attractive offers on external websites with the help of advertising media (so-called Google Ads). This enables us to determine how successful individual advertising measures are. These advertisements are delivered by Google via so-called "Ad Servers". We use so-called ad server cookies for this purpose, which can be used to measure certain parameters for measuring success, such as the display of the ads or clicks by users. If you access our website via a Google ad, Google Ads will store a cookie on your PC. These cookies usually lose their validity after 30 days. They are not intended to identify you personally. The following information is usually stored as analysis values for this cookie: unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions), opt-out information (marking that the user no longer wishes to be addressed). These cookies enable Google to recognise your web browser. If a user visits certain pages of an Ads customer's website and the cookie stored on their computer has not yet expired, Google and the customer will be able to recognise that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to that page. A different cookie is assigned to each Ads customer. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of Ads customers.
We ourselves do not collect or process any personal data in the aforementioned advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. These evaluations enable us to recognise which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of the advertising tools; in particular, we cannot identify users on the basis of this information. Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with Google's server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of Google Ads. To the best of our knowledge, Google receives the information that you have called up the relevant part of our website or clicked on one of our ads. If you have a user account with Google and are registered, Google can assign the visit to your user account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that Google will obtain and store your IP address.
We use Google Ads for marketing and optimisation purposes, in particular to serve ads that are relevant and interesting to you, to improve campaign performance reports and to achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs. We only use Google Ads with your consent, which you can revoke at any time. The corresponding data processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a) GDPR. The storage period is 6 months.
Google Dynamic Remarketing
We also use the Google service "Google Dynamic Remarketing" on our website. Google Dynamic Remarketing enables us to show you our advertisements when you continue to use the internet after visiting our website. This is done by means of cookies stored in your browser, which are used by Google to record and evaluate your usage behaviour when visiting various websites. In this way, Google can determine your previous visit to our website. According to Google, the data collected in the course of remarketing is not merged with your personal data, which may be stored by Google. In particular, according to Google, pseudonymisation is used in remarketing.
We use Google Dynamic Remarketing for marketing and optimisation purposes, in particular to serve ads that are relevant and interesting to you, to improve campaign performance reports and to achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs. We only use Google Dynamic Remarketing with your consent, which you can revoke at any time. The corresponding data processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 p.1 lit. a) GDPR. The storage period is 6 months.
