WHAT YOU'LL DO


First, who are we? BCG’s Global Specialty Businesses (GSB) are comprised of various business units that complement and provide broad services to our clients. Our businesses consist of our Knowledge Team, Data & Research Services, Practice Area Mgmt. & Operations, Knowledge Collaboration, Survey Operations and Design Studios. These teams span various talent profiles across 40 countries.
Our GSB Human Resources (HR) team takes an innovative and holistic approach to our people processes. We are looking for a strategic and pragmatic, customer-centric champion to lead our compensation area to ensure we continue to attract and retain our GSB talent.

The Compensation Senior Manager will define a compelling comp strategy for our global businesses taking into account their business needs, market data and internal insights to ensure each GSB has a best in-class, competitive compensation program across all markets. You will be responsible for and oversee the broad program design as well as guide Leaders, Managers and the People Team on how to operationalize in alignment with BCG’s overall total rewards philosophy.

This will entail leading the entire compensation process for our six BUs, which includes: managing/conducting range development, delivering compelling insights to help leaders make key compensation decisions for their teams, assessing budget impacts, consulting on challenging comp situations, owning our CompView functional requirements as well as providing clear communications and training for all stakeholders. You will work closely with GSB People Management Team (HR, Recruiting, Career Development, HR BPs), BCG’s global Compensation COE, GSB leadership, and external vendors.

YOU'RE GOOD AT


  • Partnering with HRBPs and business leaders to design and adapt compensation programs to business strategy and talent models

  • Synthesizing various data sources (external benchmarks, real-time recruiting data, exit data, internal compensation data) to distill key insights and craft a strategic compensation approach and pay ranges for each GSB

  • Managing the complexity in compensation programs spread across 40 geographies, >100 talent profiles and multiple seniority levels

  • Partnering with Global Compensation COE to share benchmark data and ensure alignment across BCG teams

  • Continually evaluating compensation programs (structure, approach, employee sentiment) and data (both internal and market) to ensure ongoing competitiveness

  • Managing large data sets to provide scenario modelling and financial implications to support business decisions (e.g. budget impact, range utilization, etc.)

  • Working across all levels of an organization to resolve complex employee comp issues, in partnership with the GSB HR, Recruiting, BU leaders and key stakeholders

  • Directing and guiding the day-to-day efforts of a virtual team comprised of 7 team members spread across various teams (1 direct report)

  • Developing and managing an integrated project plan to effectively execute our annual review and mid-yr. cycles (in conjunction with our Career Development, HR, global comp and CompView teams)

  • Assisting in the review and redesign of compensation programs, when necessary.

  • Developing and delivering various comp-related presentations (leadership updates, communications, training)


YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)


  • 10+ years prior experience in HR or compensation administration in a professional services or corporate environment that is recognized for having best-in-class approaches to human resources administration and to administrative and operational excellence

  • Experience with compensation, analytics systems, and benchmarking surveys a plus (e.g., Market Pay, Tableau, Mercer, Radford)

  • Familiarity with Workday preferred

  • Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, global, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment, keeping with BCG’s values and culture

  • Strong program management to oversee multiple efforts simultaneously

  • Must be a self-starter, highly productive, resourceful, even anticipatory with a track record of taking ownership and delivering results that have a positive impact on our company and team

  • Maturity and seasoning that engenders respect and trust from others, sound judgment, professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative style
