The purpose of this position is to manage and support the implementation of energy initiatives across a large portfolio of properties, including oversight of the Building Automation Systems (BAS) optimization program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that global energy and sustainability standards are applied throughout owned, leased, and managed properties within the account.
Enhances and updates annual Energy Management and Climate Action Plan strategy and workplan, and reports on performance.
Responsible for identifying and implementing cost saving strategies and budgeting for utilities.
Coordinates energy procurement and implementation of new technologies with the global energy and sustainability platform.
Develops, updates, communicates, and implements energy efficiency, carbon reduction, clean energy, and climate adaptation standards and strategies within the account.
Monitors and reports on energy use and spending trends. Develops and presents monthly energy efficiency status and variance reports to client.
Engages account team to build a culture of sustainability, and to identify and develop energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and climate adaptation projects.
Collaborates with the global platform on the implementation and management of energy projects in a timely and accurate fashion.
Supervises DDC technicians to implement low-cost/no-cost energy conservation measures as a key component of the account’s BAS optimization program.
Identifies and recommends strategies for BAS modernization opportunities and commissioning.

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university. Minimum of five years of related experience and/or training. Minimum of four years of managerial experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES and LICENSES
CEM preferred. Training and accreditation part of development and performance management requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including internal and external stakeholder engagement. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts financial analysis.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Experience in working with mechanical/HVAC and electrical/automation systems including BAS. Experience with energy utilities and energy management. Carbon reporting and climate adaptation experience or training would be beneficial.
