Job Description

Smile Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a large family orientated nursery located in Birmingham. The owner of this nursery is looking for a supportive and experienced nursery manager who can thrive within the setting and support the growth of the nursery within the local community. This is an amazing opportunity for a deputy to progress in their career or for an existing manager looking for a new challenge. As an early years professional the nursery is committed to ensuring continuous professional development for all its staff.

You will be working at the heart of a dedicated team in a caring, family friendly and stimulating environment who strongly believe 'lerning through play.' 

The successful candidate will work closely with the owner whilst also being required to work independently to ensure the smooth running of the nursery on a daily basis. The successful candidate also needs to be confident to make decisions whilst considering the reputation of the nursery and the impact this may have. A high degree of sensitivity to children and families is also essential to be successful within this role. 

The successful candidate will also be required to:

- Provide operational management of the nursery facilities and staff
- Ensure a high quality, balanced provision of leading practice education and care is delivered at all times.
- Consistently meet legislative requirements and following education curriculum, delivering standards which ensure the highest possible inspection grading.
- Ensure the training, support, mentoring and supervision of the staff team inspires and leads ambitious practice.
- Create a safe, caring and welcoming setting in which parents are happy to entrust their child and where their child is encouraged and supported to flourish in an enabling and stimulating environment.

Qualifications and experience required:

A full and relevant level 3 qualification 
A level 5/6 is desirable but not essential
DBS enhanced disclosure within the child workforce sector
Paediatric First Aid Trained
Safeguarding training and qualification
