Our client, a multinational optical retailer, is looking for the right person to own and carry out the public relations and social media strategy to build brand equity and establish a competitive advantage in a new market.. About the role Hybrid in-office and remote. Manage the external PR and social media agencies, ensuring they perform to agreed-upon standards and deliver on KPIs. Assist with keeping track of the departmental budget including monthly reconciliations and reforecasts. Contribute to annual strategic planning, ensuring PR and social media activities align with business goals and objectives and collaborating with key stakeholders to successfully implement plans. Brief the Marketing team on all public relations and social media initiatives and respond to all briefs to ensure cross-functional collaboration. Liaise with internal and external teams on media integration opportunities and oversee the editorial execution. Oversee the planning and delivery of all brand experiences, activities, events, and PR campaigns. Take responsibility for influencer management and work closely with Marketing and Product teams to maximize partnership opportunities with third parties that produce inspiring, engaging content. Maintain the organization’s online community, ensuring questions, feedback, complaints, reviews and posts are responded to in the brand’s voice and within a timely manner. Use research, insights, data and analytics to measure effectiveness, inform decisions, make recommendations and develop reports. Create innovative, engaging content and campaigns that inspire engagement, build brand equity and contribute to the business’ bottom line. Resolve issues swiftly to mitigate brand damage. Serve as a subject matter expert, providing general advice on industry best practices. About you. 7+ years of relevant professional experience. Bachelor’s degree or post-graduate qualifications in a related field. Developing successful PR and social media strategies that align with business objectives and planning/carrying out the related activities, campaigns, events and more. Building and overseeing social communities, providing a high level of customer service and resolving issues appropriately. Managing stakeholders and agencies with the ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate to deliver mutual benefit. High level of technical competence managing and using social media platforms and related tools for listening, scheduling and managing communities. Effective communicator with strong leadership abilities, able to work cross functionally. Able to prioritize tasks, meet tight deadlines, balance competing demands while working under pressure both independently and as part of team. Strong financial acumen and financial management experience including preparing and managing budgets. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated capability to exercise sound judgment, initiative, diplomacy, tact, and discretion. Google AdWords and digital marketing know-how. Comfortable with Niro and Jira. Strategic thinker able to creatively solve problems. Experience within the retail, fashion or healthcare industries is an asset. An agency background is an asset. About Smart, Savvy + Associates.
