Please note: It is a mandatory requirement that a Special Constable will work for 16 hours minimum per month during their first 12 months.
Dorset Police is looking for a new Chief Officer of the Special Constabulary to join one of the highest performing Police Services in the United Kingdom. The Special Constabulary is an integral part of policing in Dorset.

As Chief Officer you will the strategic lead for the Special Constabulary. Working with the Assistant Chief Constable, you will assist in creating a vision, direction and culture that builds public and organisational confidence You will have experience of working at a strategic level, liaising with partners/stakeholders. You will also have experience of managing teams, ideally management of teams of Volunteers. This role includes training and development prospects as well as the opportunity to represent the Special Constabulary locally, regionally and on occasion, nationally.
Promising to be an interesting, rewarding and worthwhile position, this role holds the strategic lead responsibility of maintaining and developing the Special Constabulary as an effective policing service.
