Vice President, Accounting Standards - Music & Entertainment - Central London c.140k + 20% bonus + travel/car allowance + excellent perks & benefits + flexible working Cedar are hiring an exclusive Senior Finance Director/VP role for one of the biggest global brands in the Media & Entertainment world. With a >30Bn market cap and growing, this business has been a dominant figure in their industry for decades and their Media has touched the lives of probably everyone on Earth. The business has now created a highly-visible role for a Senior Finance Director / VP to join the Global Finance team in London, following strong earnings and a recent IPO! The Global Financial team is responsible for: the global operating company results under IFRS; publishing the Group's results, financial statements and associated reports externally and to the market authorities; review of both the group and operating companies' financial results; providing management with analysis and presentations on both group financial reporting and the operating results. The team also closely supports the Group CFO and Board, and provides assistance to the Heads of Finance in the operating companies. The business has incredibly strong staff retention - with most of the leadership team having progressed through multiple roles over many years, and there is a genuine opportunity for long-term progression through all areas of finance through to SVP positions above, and even internationally if desired.About the role:This strategic role will lead the Group's Technical Accounting and special projects, focusing on delivering technical support on IFRS to both the department and the finance leadership across the Group. The role will be responsible for decisions around the maintenance of the Group Accounting Policies, as well as being responsible for providing technical advice on complex accounting matters for acquisitions, unusual transactions and clarification of transactions with respect to Accounting Policies and IFRS. The role will manage a Senior Manager for Global Technical Accounting, and work closely with the SVP/CFO to help with the practical implementation of Group Accounting Policies and to provide analysis and support for complex accounting transactions - particularly around M&A, JVs, Partnerships and other large commercial deals. There is also the opportunity to grow the team out further in the future as this area of Finance develops. Essential skills needed to be successful in this role:ACA/CA/CPA qualified Big 4 trained with significant PQE working in accounting advisory A subject matter expert on IFRS and their respective implementation. Detailed knowledge of new standards and the ability to analyse the potential impact on financial reporting and revenue.A strong communicator, comfortable influencing stakeholders of all levels up to C-suite / SVP level.An interest in the Music or Entertainment space, with an enthusiasm to work in the industry is a big bonus! * A full detailed job description will be provided upon successful application for the role.
